i guess i can tell you, internets, that when i post pictures of handspun, it’s pretty likely because i was working monogamously on a secret knitting project during the time that yarn was spun. so, have some handspun from the past month or two!
that’s the girl on the rocks falkland (in “peanut butter cup”) that i bought at stitches west. i spun it into a fractal 2-ply worsted weight, but i don’t know the yardage. previously, i’ve had trouble spinning falkland – it always seems to get really dense and ropey for me, probably because i’m not a good spinner. but, i loved this!
this is hello yarn “air”, in a merino tencel blend (don’t remember the exact percentages). i think i’m just going to have to come to terms with the fact that i’m terrible at spinning tencel blends. it’s hard to do and i don’t have the patience for it. this didn’t come out so bad, i think it will make a good little shawlette. not sure of the yardage other than knowing it’s not great, and it waffles between fingering and dk weight, depending on the size of the tencel clump i was spinning at any given moment.
i also dyed the 4oz of cvm/alpaca roving i bought from long ridge farm at rhinebeck last year; unfortunately, not using earthues dyes, which they sell. i used some leftover cushing acid dye.
